2005 Bill Roach

The Rollie Williams Award is given to an outstanding member of the Indiana Water Ski Association, who through their display of sportsmanship and leadership has promoted the sport of Water skiing in Indiana in a manner characteristic of the late Rollie Williams. Although the award is not necessarily given every year, this year’s 2005 award went to or acting President of IWSA Bill Roach

Bill Roach, pictured here with his wife Peggy, has served as president of IWSA for 3 years, and before that has served on the board for many more. You'd recognize his voice at the Indiana State Tournaments as he's been an announcer as well as an active participant in many of the past State Tournaments.

If you've been to any of the IWSA functions in the past Bill's been there, not only just there to see what's up but as a helping hand helping at various clinics and tournaments. Bill is responsible for many of the past Safety clinics that he's put on at Avon High School. And if it's not enough he has been in contact with the Indianapolis parks and recreation board almost continuously to try to get a waterski park

somewhere close to the Indianapolis area for tournament skiing as well as bringing the three event nationals to the Indy area. As Bill's been speaking with these Indy officials he has brought them an awakening to the Indiana WaterSki Association and what they are trying to accomplish with skiing in the State of Indiana.

BIll resides in Carmel and skis between the Fairland Ski Club and Plainfield Water Ski Club.

The Past Rollie Williams Recipients along with IWSA would like to congratulate Bill for his award and thank Bill for all he's done for the waterskiing in the state of Indiana.
