History of Timberlake Ski Club
Timberlake was formed when 10 families dreamed of being able to ski without dodging the barges and floating logs on the Ohio River. The dream became a reality in the fall of 1980 with the purchase of 35 acres of land in eastern Posey County. The dam was constructed that winter and by spring we had a small lake! The winter of 1982 saw the lake filled and homes being built. An additional lot was sold making eleven families living around the lake. Several state and national championship skiers call Timberlake home.
A turn island was added to the east end of the lake in 1992. This eliminated the need to sit the skier down on the east end to wait for smooth water.
Timberlake hosted its first Indiana State Waterski Championship in July of 1987. Since that time we have hosted the State two additional times; in 1995 and 2001.
