Judges and Scorers Clinic   April 17 th

 

The Woodland Springs Club House was a beautiful Setting for the 04 IWSA Judges Clinic.  A special thanks goes out to this years 3 event Nationals Chief Judge Tom Danford and this years Nationals Technical Controller Dave Clark for taking time out of their busy schedule to come and help facilitate this years clinic. Attended by 18 participants everyone got to understand all the new rules changes and see all the latest in the ski judging technology.  Another thanks to IWSA president Bill Roach for supplying the snacks and doughnuts in the morning and the Subway lunch.

 

                  

      Here Tom Danford , the Chairman of the rules committee for usawaterski explains all the new rules changes and why the change took effect and explains the differences in US rules and International rules. On the left Tom explains gate situations for each tournament classification.

While Tom leads the class room Dave follows along in the rule book and displays the certain settings on the wall.  While on the right, Dave takes Seth Berry, from Michigan, through the whole jump set up process, from setting up a jump grid to actually plotting jump distances from video tape.

Tom and Dave also went through the new Trick Timing Video 04 program. Explained the whole program and full operation and shown the accuracy of using video for trick timing,  And how one frame could make a placement difference at some of the bigger tournaments.
